Try these quick and natural remedies for frizzy hair!
I always wondered how some people seemed to always have smooth shiny hair. Sometimes I can accomplish that, but other times it seems the impossible dream. 🙂 Honestly, since I have gotten older it has gotten more impossible! (I am over 40 and have some gray hairs. That can definitely ramp up the frizz!)
It has taken some trial and error, but I have found some things that really help. These frizzy hair home remedies are quick fixes that take less than 5 minutes. And, of course they are non toxic and natural!
1. Natural Smoothing Shampoo

The first thing you want to do to help smooth frizzy hair is to use a natural smoothing shampoo that doesn’t contain sulfates.
Sulfates can peel away healthy oils and nutrients from your hair.
I love Acure Organics Simply Smoothing Shampoo. (I also like Acure’s Ultra Hydrating Shampoo, but the Simply Smoothing is my favorite for frizzy problems.) The Simply Smoothing Shampoo doesn’t contain sulfates, and has natural ingredients. EWG rates most of Acure Organics shampoos as a 2-that is a really safe score.
2. Deep Condition Hair in the Shower

An easy way to combat frizz is to us a smoothing conditioner with a hair clip. After you have rinsed your shampoo out of your hair, put a decent amount of smoothing conditioner in your hair. Concentrate on the ends of your hair. (I also put some on the top of my head, but I don’t put it as thickly there.)
Then use your clip to hold your hair up while you finish up your shower. That way the conditioner has a long time in your hair. Once you are ready to rinse your hair, make the water cooler. I make it as cool as I can without freezing myself!
I have been able to tell a difference in the texture of my hair since I started using this deep conditioning method.
3. Argan Oil
Argan oil is one of my favorite natural ways to get rid of frizzy hair. Argan oil has been great for my fine, thin, frizzy prone hair. I find that I can use argan oil without worrying about my hair getting oily looking or weighed down.
Argan oil is also great to apply as a heat protectant for hair. Argan oil is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, Omega-6 fatty acids, and vitamin E. It nourishes hair as well as protects it.
I simply put a few drops on my hands and then rub it all over my hands. I want the oil to be just a very thin coat on my hands so that I don’t get a greasy spot in my hair! Then I just run my hands through my hair and then smooth the outer most parts of my hair also. I do this after my shower.
I also use the argan oil again after my hair is dry if I can tell it still looks frizzy. As long as I am careful and don’t use too much, my hair looks much smoother and not greasy.
4. Natural Hairspray and a Comb
Especially after I blow dry my hair, I can have some frizz and/or some hairs that don’t want to lay down anymore! One reason is because I blow dry my hair upside down to begin with because I need more body in my fine thin hair. But, sometimes this means that I have some hairs that are sticking up after my blow dry.
I either add a tiny bit of water to the root of the wild looking hairs so I can push them where I want them, or I use my natural hairspray on a comb.
I simply spray some natural hairspray on a comb and gently comb the parts of my hair that I want to smooth down.
5. Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron
If you need a really quick fix for your frizzy hair-use a ceramic tourmaline flat iron. I love my flat iron-I bought it because I read many reviews that said it worked as well as the expensive flat irons. I paid way less than the cost of the other leading flat irons, and I have been very pleased with it.
Before I use my flat iron, I make sure that I have put some argan oil in my hair as a heat protectant. Also, in order to avoid causing myself more frizzy hair problems, I don’t use this all the time. However, it does work great for taming frizzy hair!
These are my 5 favorite natural ways to get rid of frizzy hair. These are the things I do when I need to reduce frizz quickly!
