Teaching the early grades can be really fun! I loved teaching my kids to read! Here are a few tips to help you get started:

Make sure your kids know the sounds of each letter of the alphabet. Any good reading program starts by introducing the letters and their sounds.
The sound of the letter is more important than its name. It is important that they know that the i at the beginning of the word igloo says a short i sound. This is even more important than knowing that the letter is called “i”.
