I love saving money, and I especially love it when it is easy! Here are 7 inexpensive products that I have purchased that have helped me to live frugally. They are things that don’t require much effort, but if you use them you can save a significant amount of money.
1. Planner

A planner can save you both time and money. I use mine to record birthdays and holidays. This helps me to plan ahead so that I don’t have any surprises. That way I can plan to buy whatever I need ahead of time-this means that I save gas money and I don’t end up spending too much on a gift. (If I need a gift right away, I am more likely to spend more and be more stressed!)
I also keep an errands day list so that I when I go to town, I will get all that I need and not have to make extra trips. This saves me in gas money. I have different planners available in my Etsy store. There floral one pictured above is here. You can record your errands in the “To Do” section or the notes section.
2. Shopping Lists
I love my planner because it keeps me on track for my goals and I rarely forget something important. However, if you doubt that you want a whole planner, you might just want to get some shopping lists. That way, you can keep a shopping list and an online shopping list. This alone can save you both time and money.
I like to keep a list for “internet orders” and a list for when I go out shopping. The shopping list helps me to know exactly what I need-no more unexpected shopping trips where I spend too much because I am rushed and unprepared!
The internet shopping list helps me to save money on shipping. I add things to my internet order list as soon as I notice that something is running low. That way I can keep adding things until I have enough that I know I can get free shipping. If I didn’t have the list, I might end up paying for shipping a lot more often. Get my shopping lists and save a lot!
3. The Everything Beans Book
This book is packed full of super frugal recipes that include beans. The recipes are really good-my youngest daughter loved the refried beans! This book has all kinds of information including how to get enough protein in your meals, and how to make beans more digestible (aka- how to avoid gas from beans). And best of all, you could end up saving a lot with the use of this book!
4. Popcorn Maker
Popcorn is really easy to make with a popcorn popper. It is also delicious and healthy! Homemade Popcorn is around 10 cent per 3 1/2 cup serving (and only a little more with a few Tbsp. of coconut oil or butter.) Compare that with many snacks in your grocery store-I don’t think there is any snacks in the grocery store even close to that price! Making popcorn is a super easy way to live frugally-you don’t even how to wash the popcorn maker-it stays clean since only dry popcorn touches it.
5. Coconut Oil from Vitacost
Coconut oil is a great healthy staple to keep in your kitchen. We usually keep ours out on the counter. This makes it easy to heat up our leftovers in a frying pan. And the more leftovers we eat the more we save. Having leftovers makes it way less tempting to go out to eat. And since our meals usually cost $5 or $6 total, we save a bunch by eating in! Coconut oil is also very filling, and it can be helpful for weight loss, hormone balance, digestion, and more! Find out how to get coconut oil for an awesome price here.
6.
Castile Soap
Castile Soap can be used as a body wash, fruit and veggie wash, and hand soap. There are lots of cleaning recipes also that use castile soap. Check out this Homemade All Purpose Cleaner. Castile soap is a lot cheaper than the items it replaces. I especially love it as hand soap because it is completely non toxic and because it saves me a lot of money!
7. Foaming Soap Dispenser
If you want to make your own foaming soap, you only need castile soap and a foaming soap dispenser. I have a method dispenser like the one above and it has worked perfectly for a long time. I bought a bottle of Method foaming hand soap and simply used the soap in the dispenser (which is not as non toxic as the castile soap is). Then I refilled it with 1 part liquid castile soap and 3 parts water. Then I put the lid on and turn it upside down and right side up until the mixture is mixed together. I estimate it costs me about 75¢ per refill-which is way less than I can buy regular handsoap, and it is natural and nontoxic.
These 7 items are some of my favorite frugal living finds! You may also be interested in:

I swear by a planner when it comes to saving money! I use my bullet journal, and in there I meal plan, budget, keep track of bills and paydays…what don’t I do with it? It’s helped me reduce our spending and stay more organized!

Hi Jordan! I definitely relate! If I keep organized, I end up saving a lot of money (and frustration too).
