LIve a Natural Healthy Lifestyle without the Overwhelm
I know what it is like to want and need to be healthy, but become totally overwhelmed in trying. Years ago, I was really sick. My health issues had become unbearable, so I started trying to find what could help me.
I spent thousands of dollars in testing, and a lot of the tests showed that my detox systems weren’t doing well. I needed to detox my body, and I also needed to change what was getting into my body. My body was just overloaded.
So, I started to work on detox. But, as I started to research and make changes, I got overwhelmed. The problem is there are just so many ways toxins can get into a body. And so many things I could change like:
- my food
- my personal care products
- my cleaning supplies
- my cookware
- etc. etc!
I don’t want you to be overwhelmed like I was. There is a way to be healthy and live a non toxic lifestyle without going crazy. I want you to have the benefits that come from a natural healthy lifestyle without the overwhelm.

Here are a few of my best tips that can help you live a really healthy and really natural lifestyle without going crazy.
1. Focus on What You Need Most
This can be very personal to you. I started by adding in vitamins and supplements that my natural doctor had ordered because my body was in serious need of some nutrients. Hopefully, you aren’t dealing with chronic fatigue and illness, and won’t need to have the expensive testing and supplements that I needed. If you are really sick, you may want to start with a natural practitioner or even a caring MD who will really listen.
If you aren’t currently dealing with health problems, but just want to be healthy or lose weight, then you probably want to start with adding in healthy foods. Food is super powerful for detox, weight loss, and just being feeling good!
I recommend starting by changing the oils you cook with. The right oils can improve your health in so many ways-including improving your brain and memory, help with weight loss, and help your digestion. I eat coconut oil every single day for all of these reasons. You can see some of my reasons why in this post.
If you don’t want to change your food, then I think that is totally ok-which brings me to point number 2:
2. Do What You Want
Want to try a non toxic shampoo instead of changing your eating? I say go for it! I am a big believer in the saying “there is a time for everything”. I know I am way more motivated when I want to do something. Sometimes, our intuition or inclination is the way to go.
3. Embrace Imperfection – Really!
I am not perfect. And I am okay with that. I use a dish soap that is better than the conventional alternative, but it isn’t perfectly non toxic. We like dish soap that makes lots of suds! We use gloves so we don’t have it on our hands all the time. But we do get it on our hands pretty often and I don’t stress about it!
I want you to feel the same freedom. Natural living is important, but there are many more important things in life. I change what I can and try hard not to stress about the rest. Stress is usually more unhealthy than most other things. So, I want to encourage you to change as you can, but sometimes good enough really is good enough!
4. Focus On the Benefits

It is easy to become overwhelmed if you try to change too many things. But, every change really is bringing you benefits. Changing your laundry soap may not seem like that big of a deal, but all the changes you make mean that your body isn’t being bombarded with toxins. And, I believe it really does make a difference in the long run.
I have been encouraged by watching videos of people who overcame cancer through juicing and other detoxing methods. I do not think everyone with cancer should take that route, but it is obvious that detox can have a profound effect. Every healthy change you make is important! Your body will thank you in the long run.
But, I also want to encourage you not to worry about the changes you haven’t made yet. It is okay-really! Just go with your gut, and work on the changes that you need or want to work on first.
5. Get Personalized encouragement
Sometimes we need someone to come along side us and offer help and encouragement. I am available through email or you can comment on my blog. But, I also want to recommend my sister, Caron. She helps so many people by just being herself and sharing her real life.
I would recommend her even if she wasn’t my sister, because she is sincere and super motivating. You can benefit from her super motivating videos and personalized feedback ( https://www.instagram.com/caronfountain/)for free!
6. Read My Blog 🙂
